Your Screenplay Must Appeal to a Wide Audience

by Screenwriter Simon J. Michael

What People Expect from Your Film:

To be moved!

To be entertained/escape

To be worth their time and money

To be respected, not talked down to, and no exposition through dialogue. Let them piece the puzzle together don't force feed them - let them find their own interpretations don't spell out every single thing.

Continuity - no plot holes

That you stay within the world you've established!!! Don't suddenly break away from what you've built and definitely don't have characters suddenly take actions that they have no reason for doing. There must always be an emotion associated with their past that causes them to act.
